A flurry of announcements this week - where should I start... Right. Large model support in Power BI Premium is now generally availabile (GA), with new enhancements around the UI, multi-geo support and the bring-your-own-key capability. If you're using Premium and have large datasets - consider this solution. There are some new Admin APIs and added Service Principal authentication to make for better tenant metadata scanning to complement the new Azure Purview service (mentioned in last week's editorial). These APIs should be more performant, and the ability to authenticate as a service principal helps when Setting up Azure Purview for Power BI.

Otherwise, a lot of you will probably be happy to hear that Full report attachment for subscriptions for Power BI Premium reports now available (the only technical limitations being that the report needs to be 20 pages or less, and the full attachement size less than 25MB). The team has also announced the public preview of Microsoft Information Protection Sensitivity Labels in Power BI Desktop, helping you maintain greater control and transparency over the sensitivity of your reports. Finally, the new On-premises data gateway December 2020 update is now available which includes a new Azure Cosmos DB connector, along with some SAP SSO deprecation notices.
