Power BI Weekly

Issue #85 - 17th November 2020

There's been an influx of announcements this week, so brace yourselves... The Power BI November 2020 Feature Summary has been released, including changes to the field and model views, zoom sliders, and.. some amazing Anomaly detection functionality in line charts to add some wow-factor for your report consumers. There's also been some rather nice updates in Power Query & Dataflows including some very welcome functionality in the new Visual Data Prep feature - a new visual interface to help view your Power Query transformation steps.

Additionally, we've been told about the Power BI Premium Gen2 public preview, which includes the Premium per user public preview, which will be rolled out to all tenants by the end of November. Finally, the Power BI Developer community November 2020 update has been released, including the ability to change the orientation of the page navigation in line with the 'new look' of Power BI reports in the service, added support for assigning users to the 'Viewer' role using the API, and many, many more updates.

Aside from updates this week, the article I wanted to point out it one written by my colleague Paul, who's given A designer's perspective on generating custom themes in Power BI, outlining numerous handy tips to help you design a compelling and user-friendly Power BI report. Do check it out!
