Power BI Weekly Issue 77: 22nd September 2020

Has everyone remembered that the Microsoft Ignite virtual conference starts today? If you haven't, don't worry - there's still time to sign-up. I'm sure there'll be plenty of exciting announcements/updates/roadmpas, both in Power BI and in the wider Microsoft ecosystem. Learn more over here.

Otherwise, some pre-Ignite good news: there are now Power Automate actions for exporting Power BI and paginated reports which is perfect for those of you automating the exporting/distributing of Power BI content. However, you won't be surprised to hear of the requirement for a dedicated capacity. Humph. We've also been told about the Updates to the 'new look' experience and release plangoing forward, including more admin settings for those determining what Power BI users view in their organization.

Elsewhere, Matthew Roche has answered a few thus-far unanswered questions in the blog Dataflows enhanced compute engine - will it fold?, Chris Webb has described the importance of reducing the number of visuals on a page of a Power BI report, and Imke Feldmann has described how to Split up an existing Power BI report into a Golden Dataset and a thin report.
