Power BI Weekly Issue 63: 16th June 2020

If this edition seems a little larger than usual, that's because we're now including YouTube content in the newsletter. So, you'll be seeing more and more great YouTube content being added in the near future. If you subscribe to any channels and you think that its content belongs in this newsletter, then send us a message! We can't find them all, and we want to include as much content from the community as possible.

In light of this news, it seems fitting to share some videos that have been shared in the last week. To kick things off, Ruth Pozuelo Martinez has posted the latest episode of DAX Fridays, with the edition #175: Column Fusion - Optimize your DAX queries!, where Ruth uses the neat technique described by Phil Seamark here which can speed up your DAX queries, with just a couple of changes to your measures. Elsewhere, Reid Havens has demonstrated Creating a Deployment Pipeline in the Power BI Service, and Dhruvin Shah has shown off the new mobile report development experience in the video: Develop Power BI Report for Mobile View Using Enhanced Mobile Emulator.

There have also been a number of announcements this week. As mentioned, there is a new mobile authoring experience in Power BI Desktop. The Power BI Desktop June 2020 Feature Summary has also landed, including the GA of automatic page refresh and the hierarchy slicer. Additionally, Dark mode for the Power BI iOS app has landed, we've been told that the On-premises data gateway June 2020 update is now available, and finally we've been told about the Power BI data protection GA and new capabilities.
