Power BI Weekly

Issue #62 - 9th June 2020

No news to share from the Power BI team this week, so we'll jump straight into some highlighted community blogs. Ben Gribaudo has continued the Power Query M Primer series with a comprehensive blog all about Custom Types (from a syntactical perspective), Darren Gosbell has described how measure formatting works in DAX Studio for those unsure why certain outputs might not be formatted exactly as expected, and Allison Kennedy has written a detailed blog about DAX Context Transition and why it can be handy to use a measure within another measure. Finally, Marc Lelijveld has written a useful (non-technical) blog about Power BI Governance, highlighting a method through which organizations can quality assure new Power BI functionality to gradually expose new functionality to users within their org, to try to combat negative sentiments coming from bugs in preview features, for example.
