Power BI Weekly Issue 56: 28th April 2020

This week, the Power BI team has announced the new certification capabilities for dataflows, providing the capability to promote or certify your dataflow in your organization - like you can already do for datasets. We've also been told that the On-premises data gateway April 2020 update is now available.

Elsewhere this week, Gilbert Quevauvilliers has illuminated a small tip that's news to me, and that's How to refresh selected (not all) tables in Power BI Desktop. Kasper de Jonge has described How to change the dataset script in Power BI desktop. Finally, James has written about an often overseen part of Power BI solutions - testing. As James mentions, validating business rules and security boundaries within reporting solutions is just as important as in more "traditional" software applications, especially when the data being shown is highly sensitive. Read his blog on Testing Power BI Dataflows using SpecFlow and the Common Data Model.
