Power BI Weekly
Issue #49 - 10th March 2020
The first exciting announcement this week is that Export report to PDF, PPTX and PNG files using Power BI REST API functionality is now in preview. Although there are currently a few limitations, including the fact that the report and dataset must reside on a dedicated capacity (i.e. Premium or Embedded). Learn more about the limitations here. Elsewhere, there have been updates to the Power BI Mobile app - it's now possible to multi-select data on visuals, for example. Finally, in AAS land, there is Improved resource governance for Azure Analysis Services.
Elsewhere this week, Gilbert Quevauvilliers has showcased a Real implementation of Approximate Distinct Count vs DISTINCTCOUNT and has shown it to be 7X faster, Christian Widgren has asked Is Self-Service BI feasible for everyone?, and Bruno Bossaerts has been Benchmarking Off-The-Shelf Sentiment Analysis.
