Power BI Weekly
Issue 361
9th June 2026
Welcome to the 361st edition of Power BI Weekly! The Power BI June 2026 Feature Summary has landed. Two practical reporting updates worth a look: the Date picker for slicers (Preview) does away with the ritual of opening a report each period to nudge a date slicer forward, while viewers can still pick their own range. The Shape map also reaches general availability (only the best part of a decade in preview!), and you can now download a custom map to edit and re-upload it. On the AI front, we've been told about the preview of Copilot in web modeling for help editing semantic models online, and agentic report authoring skills (Preview) that plan and build reporting elements, and then publish from the command line.
Over in the community, Gilbert Quevauvilliers has written up how to access data between a Private Link workspace and a public Fabric workspace using a managed private endpoint, handy if a DirectLake model in one place needs to read data locked away in the other. And finally, Ruben Van de Voorde at Tabular Editor has documented an experiment in pointing an AI coding agent at a broken report and asking it to fix. Essentially, while agents can be effective when properly fenced in with a sandbox, maybe think twice about using it in production (or at least take precautions!)
