Power BI Weekly

Issue #292 - 21st January 2025

It's time for the first set of feature summaries of the year. We'll start with the general Power BI January 2025 Feature Summary, which includes the new "Explore this data" feature (which is essentially a new entrypoint on a visual's context menu for the same feature released a year or so ago), as well as some Treemap visual enhancements (which provide some new formatting/tiling options). You may also be aware of the new TMDL scripting experience, which is spoken about in more depth in the article Deep dive into TMDL view for Power BI Desktop (Preview). There have also been some updates to the Save to OneDrive and SharePoint feature, which is also elaborated on in the article Save to OneDrive and SharePoint: Updated File Picker (Preview) which incorporates a handful of usability improvements. Finally, we've also received the first Power BI Report Server Feature Summary of the year, also highlighting a raft of Power BI Desktop features that are now available in Report Server.
