Issue #273 - 27th August 2024

It's that time again - the Power BI August 2024 Feature Summary has been released. It's not huge (as has generally been the case since Fabric was released) but we now have a few cool updates, including a Data Limit for visuals to help mitigate potential performance issues (Reza Rad has described this feature in greater depth in the video Power BI Report Performance Tip Add Data Limit), and also Visual level format strings are now in preview, giving you an extra level of customization of visual level calculations (which the Learning Science channel has expanded on in the video Power BI visual level calculation formatting option). Elsewhere this week, Daan Oosters has shared a great (public) Power BI report to help track available admin settings in the blog No control over new tenant settings? Here's how to take back control, and Alberto Ferrari is back explaining one of the DAX fundamental principles Filter columns, not tables, in DAX.
