Power BI Weekly
Issue #241 - 16th January 2024
A couple of updates this week. The main one being that the Model explorer with calculation group authoring is now available in Power BI service including Direct Lake semantic models, further closing the gap between the Power BI Desktop model editing experience and the online editor. The second update is the Update to Dashboard Web Content tenant setting, whereby Microsoft has taken the decision to change this setting to be "off" by default due to security risks. Not entirely sure what happens when you've explicitly set this to "on" before now, so it's worth double checking if that's the case. Elsewhere this week, Lasse Malo has written a helpful blog for Excel users acquainting themselves with DAX, describing the differences in concepts and things to watch out for. Take a look in the blog Everything You Need To Know About DAX Coming From Excel Background.
