Power BI Weekly
Issue #240 - 9th January 2024
Nothing official this week - so straight onto the highlighted articles. Firstly, Kurt Buhler has written a great piece titled The Quality Problem: A Call-to-Arms discussing how the lack of care taken when building solutions (in favour of faster and cheaper delivery) can be the downfall of many projects. Kurt talks about following DataOps principles as a means of helping you achieve quality outputs by delivering value in an agile, feedback-driven manner. We are huge proponents of DataOps here at endjin, and are actually delivering a workshop on the topic at this year's SQLBits conference. So if you find yourselves at SQLBits this year and you'd like to learn about practical methods to achieve DataOps principles when building solutions using Microsoft services, we'd love to see you at our workshop: DataOps: How to Deliver Data Faster and Better with Microsoft Cloud.
Elsewhere this week, Madison Giammaria has created a great way of interactively visualizing timeline data using the "Zoomable Serpentine Timeline", and my colleague Mike has started a series talking about Power Query - Where can you use it? - Power BI taking us through the many places Power Query pops up in the Microsoft ecosystem.
