Power BI Weekly
Issue #216 - 18th July 2023
We've been presented with the Power BI July 2023 Feature Summary this week. A bit of a quiet one, but some subtle improvements here and there - the main update being that we can now create Smoothed and Leader Lines for line and area charts, alongside various updates to the On-Object Interaction functionality, including the ability to customize the Pane Switcher and the ability to Ctrl + Click to open multiple panes. Aside from Power BI, there's a rather significant public service announcement that Azure AD is becoming Microsoft Entra ID, so try to retrain your brain as soon as you can!
Elsewhere this week, Purna (Chandoo) Duggirala has shared a nice summary of When & how to use the 30+ chart types in Power BI, Sandeep Pawar has described Pre-Warming The Direct Lake Dataset For Warm Cache Import-Like Performance, and (sticking with the Fabric theme) we've published the second part of our three-part interview with Tom Peplow (Senior Director Product Strategy at Milliman), this time discussing Microsoft Fabric & Generative AI - The Decision Maker's Guide.
