Power BI Weekly
Issue #204 - 25th April 2023
This week we've had a handful of official blogs to share. The coolest of them all (in my opinion) is the new ability to Edit your data model in the Power BI Service which is in Preview. This is hopefully the first of many steps to bring Desktop parity in the Service, which would be revolutionary for Power BI as a product. Granted, there are a load of known Considerations and Limitations, but there's plenty to test out and get going with. We've also been given a deep-dive into the new Dynamic Format Strings for Measures, which takes us through four example use-cases demonstrating the value provided by this functionality. Elsewhere this week, we've been told that Microsoft Purview data loss prevention policies for Power BI are now generally available (GA), DAX Studio v3.0.7 has been released, and the On-premises data gateway April 2023 has landed, which includes a notice for those taking advantage of the Web.BrowserContents
function in any of their gateway-bound reports.
