Power BI Weekly Issue 176: 27th September 2022

This week we've been told What’s New in the September Release of Power BI Report Server, including (amongst other updates) an updated portal and a new migration tool for uploading on-premises reports to the Power BI Service. We've been told about the On-premises data gateway September release which brings the compatibility in line with the latest Desktop version, and we've been asked to fill out the Power BI Metrics (previously referred to as Goals) survey.

Elswhere this week, Marc Lelijveld has described How OFFSET in DAX will make your life easier - OFFSET is a new (currently hidden - what is it with secret DAX formulas recently?) DAX function announced at the Power BI Next Step conference, which is one function amongst what will eventually be a group of window functions within Power BI. Do read Marc's blog for more details on what exactly OFFSET does. Also this week, James Broome has shared the third part of the Insight Discovery blog series describing the importance in Defining Actionable Insights, and Paul Waller has provided a valuable visual designer's perspective on How to enable data teams with the design assets required for impactful data storytelling in Power BI.
