Power BI Weekly Issue 157: 17th May 2022

Yesterday the Power BI May 2022 Feature Summary came out, and the feature that's drawn the most attention (quite rightly) has been the introduction of Field parameters, for a much more seamless way of allowing users to dynamically change the measures/fields shown on a chart. Other news this week includes the new ability for tenant admins to disable DirectQuery against Power BI Datasets (although I do sympathize if your tenant admin decides to do this), and that the Charticulator visual is now GA. We've also been told about some SandDance Power BI Custom Visual updates, the new Action bar for interactive reports in the Power BI tab for Microsoft Teams and the New Power BI Known Issue page. On that last point, Gilbert Quevauvilliers has created and demonstrated a helpful Known Issues Power BI Report with Alerting.

Elsewhere this week, James Serra has broken down the various Power BI connectors to Azure Synapse, Jess Hill has written about Table Functions in DAX: FILTER and ALL, and Ignacio Barrau has shared a new external tool which generates a handy Data Quality Report over an existing data model.
