Power BI Weekly Issue 103: 30th March 2021

In the last week, we've been told about the Power BI inheritance of MIP labels from Azure Synapse Analytics is in public preview, meaning that any sensitivity labels from Synapse or Azure SQL DB will be carried through to Power BI. Otherwise, we've been given a helpful Guide to enabling your organization to use Power BI in Microsoft Teams, together with PowerShell snippets to help admins with the technical side of the process. The Power BI team has also highlighted the Microsoft Business Applications Launch Event taking place next Tuesday, for those that want to know more about the Power Platform release wave 1.

Do you like using cards on your reports? Well, so do I. Alberto Ferrari has described how to Optimize card visuals in slow Power BI reports with some simple tricks. Chris Webb is continuing the mega series about file types, ADLSgen2 and Synapse with a blog describing how to Optimise The Performance Of Combining Data From Multiple Parquet Files In Power Query/Power BI. And finally, Adam Saxton has provided a great tip to improve the usability of your reports in the video Help your Power BI report users with an Information Panel. As ever, a clever use of PowerPoint and Power BI bookmarks can give people a better experience while navigating around your report.
