Power BI Weekly Issue 101: 16th March 2021

This week, the Power BI team has revisited an article they wrote back in December 2019, talking about Power BI as a superset of Azure Analysis Services. Christian Wade highlights all the features that Power BI Premium has inherited from AAS, and the additional features on top of that set which makes Premium a very compelling product. Of course, there's still the cost disparity between AAS and Premium, which can be a blocker for companies wanting to make the migration. However, with PPU we have an additional option which wasn't available back then which provides a much more reasonable migration option. And on that note, Martin Schoombee has written about Pro, PPU, and AAS pricing in the useful blog: Should I move to Power BI Premium Per User?.

Elsewhere this week, Amit Shuster has joined Adam Saxton on GuyInACube to talk about the new updates for the Power BI Embedded Playground with Amit Shuster (2021) mentioned in last week's editorial, Anthony Escobedo has described various ways of Using Power Apps, Power BI and Power Automate Together to get the most out of the Power Platform, and Reid Havens has described how to layer visuals to create the effect of having Adjustable Bands and KPIs on a Line Chart.
